About this book

"Drag" Harlan is a book by Charles Alden Seltzer, with a frontispiece by P. V. E. Ivory and a publication date noted as May 1921. Its contents list chapters titled "A Desert Rider," "A Man's Reputation," "Barbara Is Puzzled," "Harlan Takes Charge" and "Harlan Joins the Gang."

In one passage a rider crossing the desert sees two horses behind a sand ridge and two men beside a rock. He laughs and calls out to them, and one man slips and tumbles down to the sand. In another, a man tells a young woman that somebody has to look out for her, and reminds her of the trouble at Lamo and of a man called Deveny. In a third, a man says that he and Haydon, the one they called "Chief," ran things in the valley as partners, and that he is playing a lone hand now.
