About this book

Fourth Down! is a book by Ralph Henry Barbour. The contents list chapter titles such as Toby Makes a Call, Tubb Tries Football and Yardley Plays Greenburg, among others. Toby overrules a sullen boy who protests against further repairs, telling him, "You don’t want a nasty scar there." Toby asks the boy whether he lives in Wissining, and the boy answers that he is going to school there.

Deering, speaking to Toby, says he wants to make the team but does not want fellows to wink and laugh and look wise about him. Toby raps on the door of Number 31 at three o’clock according to agreement, and Tubb bids him enter. Toby observes that Tubb is not ready for football.
