The contents list names chapters such as The Last Practice Game, Tied in the Ninth Inning and The Lucky Seventh, among others. The text describes Jack Winters as someone who seemed a born athlete and had a cheery, winning way about him.
The text says that in about forty-eight hours Harmony would be swarming into the town, riding in all manner of conveyances and showing every confidence in their great team to take a deciding game. A character named Alec tells Jack he never felt better in his whole life, so far as his body goes, but is in a peck of trouble at home. The text has O’Leary run like mad and catch a fly in a most amazing fashion, well deserving the loud salvos of cheers.
