About this book

Ralph Henry Barbour's Kick Formation is set around North Bank, and the pages sampled follow its football team.

In one passage North Bank plays Bayside. An intercepted forward pass puts North Bank in possession, Don Sears and Duveen run plays, and Omstead gets the pass and runs for a touchdown, though he misses the goal. North Bank is not very proud of the victory; Tom shows some enthusiasm, and Jerry whoops noisily. Another passage is a practice, where Mr. Thorne scolds and begs while Mr. Tibbs calls out corrections from across the lines. In a third, Tom laughs helplessly at a trunk, saying Jerry told him he had bought a wardrobe trunk, while Joe looks on.
