About this book
History of the Plague in London is by Daniel Defoe, and an introduction says that Daniel Defoe was probably born in 1661 in the parish of St. Giles's, Cripplegate, London, where his father was a butcher. A passage says that from the time the plague first began in St. Giles's Parish the ordinary burials increased in number considerably, and lists weekly burials for St. Giles's, St. Andrew's, St. Bride's and St. James's.
A passage describes a group that came near Epping and halted in the open forest, where they pitched their little camp of three large tents or huts made of poles. A passage says that people cry out God be praised and weep aloud for joy, so great that it was, as it were, life to them from the grave.
