Sock toys, dolls, puppets and novelties fill a contents list that includes animals, clothing, facial expressions and a puppet skit. The monkey instructions begin by turning a sock inside out and sewing seams, with a cut between the seams leaving an opening for stuffing. The monkey's head is shaped by tying ribbon loosely at the neck, with a tighter ribbon giving a more floppy head.
The owl pillow uses the foot of a large, dark sock, stuffed firmly but flattened and sewn closed. The owl's eyes are made from white felt circles with small yellow buttons in their centers. The owl's beak is a small cone of shiny oilcloth, sewn below the eyes so that the eyes and nose form a triangle.
