About this book
Against Heresies, Volume 3, is part of the second-century masterwork of Irenaeus of Lyon (c.130-c.202) defending the apostolic faith against Gnosticism. In this volume, in the 1885 Ante-Nicene Fathers translation, Irenaeus appeals to the tradition of the apostolic churches and the rule of faith as the test of true doctrine. His argument from apostolic succession shaped Christian thought for centuries. The work remains essential to the study of early Christianity. Free PDF download available on BDeBooks.
