About this book
Leaves from St. John Chrysostom is a selection translated by Mary H. Allies. The text says that Arcadius went further and condemned Chrysostom to a more distant and ruder exile at Pityus. The deposed patriarch had to undertake a journey in the utmost summer heat, with exhausted strength, and never reached the end.
A piece headed Resurrection confirmed by Signs which followed says that the wonders worked by the Apostles are read immediately after the Crucifixion and the Resurrection so that we may have a clear and unambiguous proof of the Resurrection. The piece tells its hearers that they did not look upon Him rising from the dead with their bodily eyes, but see Him rising with the eyes of faith.
