About this book
Warwick Deeping wrote Love Among the Ruins. Part I speaks of the branches of the forest invoking the sky with the supplications of their thousand hands. The text names a man Jaspar, a phlegmatic soul in the hot sphere of action, and a girl Yeoland, who on the contrary had an abundant spirit, and an untamed temper.
An illustration caption reads Flavian of Gambrevault stood bound before her. An answer comes back to the question Who knocks?, I Flavian. The text describes Sir Simon's multitudinous squadrons to the east, the long ranks of the Lauretians dwindling westwards, and Morolt's shields flickering on the heights.
