About this book

Margaret Montfort is a book by Laura Elizabeth Howe Richards. A list headed Books by Laura E. Richards names Captain January and Melody, The Story of a Child. A letter signed Peggy and addressed to Margaret tells of a puppy that Hugh named Hamlet because he was black and white, and that jumped into the looking-glass and smashed it.

Margaret sees Susan D. seated astride of a gable, dangling her legs; asked what she is doing there, the child replies that she is looking for her other stocking, which she dropped out of the window. Uncle John says Bravo, and asks why Meg stopped, adding that it would not have been the first time he had played Saladin.
