About this book
Messages from the Epistle to the Hebrews is a work by Handley Carr Glyn Moule. An epigraph says the Bible is the Sky in which God has set Christ the Sun, and is followed by the name John Ker, D.D. The preface says the chapters are the work of intervals of leisure scattered over a long time, and that the exposition had advanced some way when an unexpected call to new and exacting duties compelled the writer to put it aside for several years.
The text asks what the great truth of Hebrews ii. is, answers that Jesus Christ is Man, and says that He is the Brother of Man as truly as He is the Son of God. Chapter VIII, headed Faith and Its Power, calls the eleventh chapter of the Hebrews a pre-eminent Scripture. The text notes, as one passing note present in other Epistles as in this, that the Ministry is addressed and greeted through the Church rather than the Church through the Ministry.
