About this book
Nietzsche's life and works are introduced in this 1910 volume from the Philosophies Ancient and Modern series by Anthony M. Ludovici, author of Notes to Zarathustra. The preface by Dr. Oscar Levy recalls the years when supporters of Nietzsche met only silence, then hostility, then polite respect. Levy doubts, however, that the philosopher's influence can stand against the democratic tide of the age, and he points to the story of Job to show that truth does not always prevail.
