About this book
The title page presents Our Day under the phrase In the Light of Prophecy and quotes the Scriptures about learning, patience, comfort, and hope. The discussion of fulfilled prophecy says fulfilment can be seen in matters concerning individuals as well as in the affairs of cities and empires. The account of Joseph says his dream foretold his brothers coming before him as suppliants and that his father rebuked him for telling the dream.
The brothers sell the lad into slavery and, twenty years later, present themselves before the prime minister of Egypt, unaware of his identity, and fall before him. The account of Jericho quotes Joshua's warning that a man rebuilding the city would lay its foundation in his first-born and set up its gates in his youngest son. The historical discussion says that following Alexander's death the empire was divided toward the four winds of heaven, citing the rise of four monarchies.
