About this book

Observations upon the Prophecies of Daniel, and the Apocalypse of St. John is by Sir Isaac Newton, in two parts, and carries the date 1733 on its title page. A dedication addresses Peter Lord King, Baron of Ockham and Lord High Chancellor of Great Britain.

One passage discusses how the Jews divided their sacred books into the Law, the Prophets and the Hagiographa, and notes that the Samaritans read only the Pentateuch. Another passage sets out the officials of Judea and Syria under Tiberius: Valerius Gratus, then Pontius Pilate, then Vitellius, president of Syria, who put Jonathas the son of Annas in place of Caiaphas as High Priest. Elsewhere Theoderic leads his nation into Italy, and Ennodius is quoted from a panegyric to him.
