About this book

Peterkin is by Mrs. Molesworth, and its contents list chapters called What can have become of Him?, Found, An Invitation and Very Mysterious. The contents also name Margaret, The Great Plan, A Terrible Idea, In A Fog, Beryl, Dear Mamma and No Mystery after all.

Clement asks nurse for leave to go out for half-an-hour or so, saying that mamma is out and that he has an idea about Peterkin. A speaker says that someone has rheumatism, so she very seldom goes up and down stairs, and that nurse does just exactly what Miss Bogle tells her. Pete tells Margaret all about Blanche and Elf, especially about Elf, and about the lots of fairy story-books he had got, while they make plans for all sorts of things they would do while Margaret stayed with us.
