About this book
Piece Goods Manual is by A. E. Blanco. The title page says fabrics are described, and textile, knit goods, weaving terms, etc., explained, with notes on the classification of samples. The title page says the work was compiled and illustrated as an aid to members of the Chinese Maritime Customs Service.
An entry says Angora is the name of a species of goat which yields a wool commercially known as Mohair. A passage says yarn is measured by a system of counts, the number of yards of yarn to the pound. An entry says that where the design is produced by printing, the material would not be an Oxford Shirting but would more correctly be classed as an imitation or printed Oxford.
