About this book

Prison of a Billion Years, by Stephen Marlowe, centres on Adam Slade, a man who had nothing to lose by making a break for it. Slade is on the loose with a hostage. The hostage is Marcia Lawrence, who is twenty-two years old and was a reporter for Interplanetary Video before she became a hostage.

Slade marched outside with a frightened Marcia Lawrence. Outside the dome there was rock, rock only, twisted and convoluted and thrusting and gigantic like monoliths of a race of giants. The text describes a sea far off, a clean sea, whose waters must evaporate countless times and come down in pelting, endless rain. Someone opened the sluicegates and the rain bombarded them, slapping and bouncing off the rock like pistol shots.
