Ransacker

The sequel to “Berserker,” “Ransacker,” by Emmy Laybourne, takes place in 1886 in Montana. The main character of the tale is 16-year-old Norwegian immigrant Sissel Hemstad, who possesses legendary Viking magic. Sissel learns she can find gold and valuable metals, a talent known as ransacking. James Peavy, a Pinkerton spy, and Isaiah McCray, a local mining owner, are drawn to her abilities. Sissel has to use caution as she moves between these two men. Using her abilities might make them all extremely wealthy or disastrous.
