About this book

Rollo in Paris, by Jacob Abbott, is one volume of Rollo's Tour in Europe, whose volumes include Rollo on the Atlantic, Rollo in Switzerland and Rollo in London. The list of principal persons gives Rollo as twelve years of age, Mr. and Mrs. Holiday as Rollo's father and mother, travelling in Europe, and Thanny as Rollo's younger brother. The same list names Jane as Rollo's cousin, adopted by Mr. and Mrs. Holiday, and Mr. George as a young gentleman, Rollo's uncle.

Mr. Holiday says that a decided objection to the plan is that the steamer for to-morrow, from New Haven, leaves at midnight, and Rollo says that is the very reason why he wanted to go that way. Rollo takes from his pocket a small parcel put up in a piece of French newspaper and shows Jennie a small net and fishing lines.
