About this book
The Adventures of Fleet Foot and Her Fawns is by Allen Chaffee and is described as A True-to-Nature Story for Children and Their Elders. The contents list chapters titled The Spotted Fawns, A Foxy Trick, At the Valley Farm, The Round-Up, Wild Grapes and Speckled Trout. Baldy swoops again and begins beating the little fellow with great heavy blows of his middle wing joints, and Fleet Foot reaches the spot.
The Boy says he has made a birthday resolution to befriend every furred and feathered creature in these woods. A fox pup has such needle-sharp ears that he could hear fainter sounds than any human being ever could have, but though Frisky Fox was clever, the Boy at the Valley Farm was more so. The white-tailed deer of the woods about Mount Olaf were always sure of a little hay to tide them over the month of hunger.
