About this book
The contents list names chapters on, among others, the definition and origin of banshees, some historical banshees and the malevolent banshee. A first-person narrator says they have always been a believer in a spirit world, in the unknown. The text refers to Mr McAnnaly, who in his “Irish Wonders” records a very remarkable instance of a number of Banshees manifesting themselves simultaneously.
A character named O’Farrell says that, when on the veranda just now, the sound of a harp was distinctly heard in the room, and shortly afterwards a woman weeping. A first-person account tells of waking about two o’clock to a curious kind of tapping noise coming along the passage that ran parallel with the bed.
