About this book
The Child's Book of Nature explains how a person can act as a receiver and become charged with electricity, just as a brass receiver does. The electrical demonstration describes glass legs on a stool preventing electricity from passing away from the person standing on the stool.
The account of piano playing describes the player's mind sending messages to the many muscular fibres that work the arms and fingers. The explanation of sensation describes messages travelling from the sounds of the piano and voice along the nerves of the ear to the mind. The discussion of heat and light says that these do not always keep together when arriving together, but are sometimes separated from each other.
