About this book
The Court of Boyville is a book by William Allen White. The text says that it is odd "we have not learned to let a boy be a boy". Boyville is described as "a Free Town in the monarchy of the world", whose citizens mind their own business. The text asks, "What if he roams the woods and lives for hours in the water? What if he prefers the barn to the parlor?"
Piggy hears the sound of merriment within, tiptoes to the window and peeps in, and sees his Heart's Desire sitting alone. The text says that "it may be clearly proved, if necessary, that the tick-tack was invented by the devil". A mother says to Miss Morgan, "I just want you to look at my boy," and Miss Morgan exclaims, "Well, for mercy sakes! Where on earth's he been?"
