About this book
The Crimson Conquest, with the subtitle A Romance of Pizarro and Peru, is by Charles B. Hudson. The contents list names, among others, the chapters Booty from Peru, The Señora Declares a Purpose, Nipping a Conspiracy and The Inca's Encampment. The text says that Pizarro, with a handful of men, fewer than two hundred and fifty, was invading an empire of whose civilization and warlike character there was ample evidence.
The text gives a date for a march: on the twenty-fourth of September the Army of the Conquest took up its march to meet the legions of the Inca. The text says that the world takes on new charms and promises things untold, conspiring with the insistent young archer and with a thousand circumstances to lure the lovers on to their silently coveted happiness. A monarch addressed as Lord Inca Manco says he makes Cristoval an Inca of Tavantinsuyu by Privilege and places the llautu upon Cristoval's head.
