About this book
The Doers by William John Hopkins has a story headed "The Digging-Men Story" about a little boy who was almost five years old. The contents list stories titled "The Mason Story", "The Dinner-Time and Jonah Story" and "The Carpenter Story", among others. One man tells the little boy "You tell her that you'll be safe here. I'll keep my eye on you."
A great big wagon comes to the new house carrying ladders and a great many pots of paint, some dark green for the blinds and some a lemon-yellow for the corners of the house. The moving-men's old soft cloths cover the things they move, so that the things shouldn't get scratched or broken.
