About this book

The Last Dragon is by Dan Totheroh. In the chapter Goodbye, Dragon, Mrs. Baxter, who thinks dragons are vicious and wants to protect her children, sends a dragon out, and he backs away sheepishly with a drooping head and big blue eyes.

The next chapter, The Dragon Taps on the Window, opens on a moonlit night. Peter, Johnathan and Janet Jane are in the nursery, and Grandma sits in her rocking chair across the hall with peppermints in her pocket. Another passage meets Riggy, who has a head as yellow as a buttercup and a stutter, and who asks Peter, as a brave and noble knight, to help him. Elsewhere Peter introduces the dragon to Grandma as Mr. Dwagon, the last dwagon in the whole, whole world.
