About this book
The title page announces The Life of Robert Louis Stevenson for Boys and Girls. The dedication is to the boys at the Yorkville Library and to all other boys who love to tramp and camp and seek adventure.
A passage says that Thomas Stevenson, the father of Robert Louis, contributed largely to lighthouse building and harbor improvement, serving under his older brother, Allen, in building the Skerryvore. A quoted grandson says he has spoken with many who knew him and points to the look that came over their faces at the name of Robert Stevenson. A passage has Stevenson and his wife and stepson, and the dog, going to the Coast Range Mountains immediately after their marriage. One passage shows a man helping his wife on the verandah and gaily talking, who suddenly put both hands to his head and cried out, "What's that?"
