About this book

The Miraculous Medal is subtitled Its Origin, History, Circulation, Results and is by Jean-Marie Aladel. The opening caption names Sister Catherine Labouré, the Daughter of Charity, as favored with the Vision of the Miraculous Medal in 1830. The dedication is addressed to The Most Compassionate Virgin Mary, mother of god, conceived without sin.

A passage says that Zoé became a postulant in the house of the Sisters at Châtillon, in the beginning of the year 1830. A passage about a sick man says that his confessor brought the Notice of the miracles wrought through the Miraculous Medal, and that the sick man began to read it aloud, greatly to the astonishment of his wife and the priest. The text exclaims "How often have we seen Mary's image kissed respectfully by lips which had formerly uttered only blasphemies against the Mother of God!"
