About this book
The Mongols is a history by Jeremiah Curtin, with a foreword credited to Theodore Roosevelt. The contents list the accession of Ananda, grandson of Kubilai, the removal of Ananda, and the succession of Khaishan under the name of Kuluk. A contents heading names the cause and beginning of the ruin of Mongol power in China.
The account of Togan says he thought the war ended, but the enemy rallied and harassed his marches. The campaign narrative describes summer heat and rains bringing disease to the northern warriors, with the army forced to retreat toward Yun nan under continual harassment. A chant asks to bear the addressed person's remains to their last home and resting place and to give consolation to the people.
