About this book
The Pigeon is a fantasy in three acts by John Galsworthy. The persons of the play include Christopher Wellwyn, an artist, Ann, his daughter, and Timson, once a cabman. The action passes in Wellwyn's Studio and the street outside, with Act I set on Christmas Eve.
Ann says to Daddy, "It's a frightful habit," and that one of these days he will get himself into most fearful complications. Bertley tells Wellwyn that it is stealing, and Wellwyn says that we all have our discrepancies. Wellwyn says to a Constable, "But look here, Constable, as a reasonable man", about this poor wretched little girl, and the Constable shakes his head.
