About this book
Windows is a play by John Galsworthy, set out in ACT I, ACT II and ACT III. The list of persons names Geoffrey March, a freelance in literature, with Joan March as his wife, Mary March as their daughter and Johnny March as their son, and Mr Bly as their window cleaner with Faith Bly as his daughter. Johnny tells Mary that anyone who had just missed being killed for three blooming years for no spiritual result whatever would want something to bite on.
A speaker tells Johnny that chivalry was off even before the war and asks who wants chivalry. Johnny says that of all shallow-pated humbug, the sneering at chivalry is the worst. Johnny calls babies beastly things, and absolutely unnecessary in the present state of the world, and Faith answers with a faint smile that her baby wasn't beastly.
