The Story of a Dark Plot, or Tyranny on the Frontier, is credited to A. L. O. C. The preface sets down the words precept upon precept, line upon line, here a little and there a little, and calls this a divinely appointed rule to which we will do well if we take heed.
The text says that on the evening of Feb. 26th, 1894, a public meeting was held in Sutton, and at the close a society was organized to secure the enforcement of the Scott Act. The text says that on April 25, 1894, the Brome County Branch of the Alliance held its annual meeting for the election of officers, and Mr. Smith was chosen its President for the ensuing year. A quoted passage says the trial has been an expensive one to the Crown, and its inglorious ending will hardly satisfy the public that the ends of justice have been served and the law vindicated.
