About this book
The Story of Prague has a chapter headed Prague at the Earliest Period. The text says that here, as elsewhere, very ancient legends and traditions take the place of genuine history. The text says Krok is said to have left no son, but three daughters, Kázi, Teta and Libussa. The text says that Libussa is described by the ancient chronicler, Cosmas of Prague, as a wonderful woman among women, chaste in body and righteous in her morals.
The text says that according to a contemporary epigram, Prague, that had been of wood at the time of Libussa, afterwards became marble, but golden under Rudolph. The text says Rudolph was a great collector of paintings, sculpture, and even mere curiosities. The index includes an entry reading Frederick the Great storms Prague.
