About this book
The Sword is a work by Frank Quattrocchi, illustrated by Tom Beecham. A line under the title says there were but three days in which to decipher the most cryptic message ever delivered to earth. George Harrison notices the flashing red light on the instrument panel as he turns onto the bridge to Balboa Island.
Mills says the thing is coming in awfully fast, at speed of light times a factor of at least two, maybe four. The text has a contact come in perfect Intersolar Convention code, saying only that they were coming in. A speaker, addressing Bob, recalls that the alien said of the sword that it is defective. A speaker says that as long as man used swords, or gunpowder, or atom bombs, or hydrogen bombs, he was doomed to a fearful anarchy of unsolved problems and dreadful immaturity.
