About this book
Disobeying his mother, the mischievous young Peter Rabbit squeezes under the gate into Mr. McGregor's garden to feast on vegetables—and narrowly escapes with his life after losing his little blue jacket in a frantic chase. Beatrix Potter's tiny, perfect tale, with its gentle humor and famous watercolor illustrations, has enchanted small children for over a century. Its simple story of naughtiness and consequences, told with warmth and charm, made Peter Rabbit one of the best-loved characters in all of children's literature. A timeless nursery classic, The Tale of Peter Rabbit remains a cherished first book for generations of young readers around the world.
