About this book
The Young Oarsmen of Lakeview is by Edward Stratemeyer, and its contents list names chapters called Jerry, Harry, and Blumpo and Mrs. Fleming’s Runaway Horse. Other chapter titles include The Single Shell Race, Tar And Feathers, The Hermit of the Island and The Robbery of the Rockpoint Hotel.
Jerry and Harry row up a lake while the three boys talk over an outing for some time. A race on the following Saturday matters to Jerry, who says he would not want to leave until he had rowed that race with Si Peters from Rockpoint. Silas Peters is considered the best single-shell oarsman on the lower side of the lake, and he has challenged Jerry as a representative from the Lakeview Academy. The text says that Si Peters and Wash Crosby were taken to Rockpoint and an examination was held, and that the bad boys confessed robbing the hotel.
