A passage says that Ned Newton had ridden many times with his chum Tom, and that the sensation of gliding through the upper regions was not new to him. Tom cries “Here we go!” and the next instant they shot up into the air. Tom says it will take a day to make the repairs and put in the new pieces of platinum, but that he will work as fast as he can. Tom, the young inventor, is at his chum’s side in a moment and cries that it is platinum, of the very highest grade, but that the lumps are very small. The younger Russian brother says there are larger ones beyond.
