About this book

Venus Equilateral is by George O. Smith, with illustrations by Sol Levin and an introduction by John W. Campbell, Jr. The dedication is to James Clerk Maxwell, whose Electromagnetic Equations founded the art of electronics and thus made Venus Equilateral possible. An introduction says that sometimes it is a little hard to get people to realize that not only has the world changed in the past, but that it is changing now, and will change in the future.

The Venus Equilateral Relay Station is placed sixty degrees ahead of the planet Venus, on Venus' orbit. Orders for everything emanated from Venus Equilateral, which is called the center of Interplanetary Communications and the main office. Don Channing hoped to direct the organization, described as a closed corporation with one purpose in mind: Interplanetary Communication. Mark Kingman sits in the control room of a ship of space and worries, with Venus covering three-quarters of the sky below the dome.
