About this book
The title page presents a translation from the Dutch by Leonard Charles van Noppen, with illustrations credited to John Aarts. The contents list a translator's preface, an introduction, a sketch of the poet's life and times, an interpretation, a bibliography, and the work's argument and characters.
The account says that Gabriel commands Michael to restore all things to their accustomed place lest the malicious spirits cause further mischief. Michael sends Uriel to drive from Eden the pair who have transgressed the primal law, and the duty includes forcing mankind to labour. Ozias receives an injunction to capture and securely bind the host of infernal animals with the lion and dragon.
