Alan Cumming

Alan Cumming moves between theatre, film, television, music, directing, and writing. The Scottish performer's work as the Emcee in Cabaret earned a Tony Award, while his screen roles range from The Good Wife to the Spy Kids films. Not My Father’s Son: A Family Memoir interweaves memories of a difficult childhood with the investigation of a mystery surrounding his maternal grandfather. That inquiry began during Cumming's participation in the BBC genealogy series Who Do You Think You Are? Canongate published the memoir in 2014, and it later won the Slightly Foxed Best First Biography Prize.
