Amanda Lucidon

Amanda Lucidon brings documentary photography and White House experience together in Chasing Light. From 2013 to 2017 she served as an official White House photographer, with responsibility for documenting First Lady Michelle Obama at home, around the country, and during overseas travel. The Ten Speed Press volume pairs 150 candid photographs with Lucidon's reflections on the people, places, and working decisions behind the images. Its scenes include family moments, school visits, public initiatives, and international trips, giving the collection the rhythm of a visual record rather than a conventional political biography. The Obama Presidential Center presents these photographs as a view of Michelle Obama through a White House photographer's lens, while the archived White House profile confirms Lucidon's official role. Her authorship therefore grows directly from the access, observation, and visual storytelling that defined her government work.
