Andy Kershaw
Andy Kershaw is a British broadcaster, journalist, and music enthusiast whose radio career has ranged from rock programming to recordings gathered across the world. His 2011 autobiography No Off Switch takes its title from the restless pace of the life it recounts. Kershaw describes promoting concerts while at university, working with Billy Bragg, presenting Whistle Test and Live Aid, and later pursuing music and reporting far beyond Britain. His broadcasting brought artists from Africa and other regions to wider audiences, while assignments for BBC radio placed him amid major international events. Reviews treated the memoir as energetic and candid, though they also noted its argumentative edge and the difficult personal period covered near its close. Kershaw’s own materials continue to connect No Off Switch with his work as a live DJ, radio presenter, and storyteller. The book is therefore both a broadcasting memoir and a record of sustained curiosity about music, travel, and news.
