Brittany Tieniel Robinson
Brittany Tieniel Robinson writes fantasy and poetry, sometimes publishing under the shorter name Taniel. Violet Spiders of Methusela’s Grove appeared in 2019 as a teen fantasy. It follows Annaleigh and her mother Lydia in the village of Leanor, where four immortal rulers called the Prattle maintain authority through magical violet spiders and lessons in the Arborituary. When the group announces that it needs a fifth member, the town must confront what immortality demands. Robinson’s background also includes spoken word performance and a communication studies degree from Texas State University. Her other published work ranges from speculative fiction to the poetry collection The Emerald Movement. Violet Spiders of Methusela’s Grove combines invented games, local customs, friendship, family disagreement, and a tightly controlled community. Its alternate byline is significant because some editions credit Brittany Tieniel Robinson together with Taniel, linking the full name and shorter publishing identity to the same work.
