David J. Haskins

David J. Haskins is an English musician, songwriter, visual artist, playwright, and memoirist, widely known as David J. He was a founding member and bassist of Bauhaus and later played in Love and Rockets. Who Killed Mister Moonlight? follows the formation, ascent, separation, and reunions of Bauhaus while also examining Haskins's solo work and his experience of collaboration. Jawbone Press publishes the memoir under the full title Who Killed Mister Moonlight? Bauhaus, Black Magick and Benediction. Haskins writes from inside the bands' creative process, connecting recording sessions, touring, visual culture, and changing relationships among the musicians. The book consequently serves as both a personal account and a detailed history of two influential groups.
