David Moody

Moody self-published Hater as a free download in 2006, sold enough copies off his own website to be noticed, and the film rights went to Guillermo del Toro before a publisher had the book. The premise is not a virus: ordinary people simply begin killing, and nobody can tell who has changed. Autumn came first and worked the same way. He wrote in the evenings while working in insurance in the English Midlands, and has kept the self-publishing habit alongside the trade deals.
