Silver in the Mist is her second novel, published by Inkyard Press in 2022. It follows Devlin, a spy from Aris who enters the neighboring court of Cerena seeking the magical filigree her country needs to hold back the advancing Mists. Her assignment brings her into contact with Alyse, a gifted caster, and challenges the history Devlin has accepted from her own side. The novel combines court intrigue and magic with questions about art, scarce resources, family expectations, and political storytelling. Kirkus highlighted its grounded treatment of social inequality alongside its imaginative setting and placed it for teen fantasy readers. Victoria also wrote This Golden Flame and identifies her work with science fiction and fantasy for younger audiences. Silver in the Mist uses Devlin's changing understanding of Cerena to make friendship and critical judgment as consequential as magical ability.
