About this book

Anything You Can Do is by Randall Garrett. A shorter version of the work appeared in ANALOG, and the front matter says that all of the characters in the book are fictitious, and any resemblance to actual persons, living or dead, is purely coincidental. Wang gives his grandfather all the information he had on the flying thing and concludes that he thinks it is coming down very close to here.

The whine becomes a shrill roar, and the thing in the air becomes a silver-pink fish shape. A character, who had always known there were holes in his memory, finds it disconcerting to find an area that was as full of holes as a used machine-gun target. A large area that had been one of the major junction points of the tunnel network is the area the Nipe has taken over to build his home-away-from-home, with his workshops, his laboratories and his storerooms.
