About this book
Christology of the Old Testament is accompanied by a commentary on the Messianic predictions, and the title page identifies the book as the first volume. The discussion of the Protevangelium says that, under the interpretation considered, victory of light over darkness is foretold only in general terms, without identifying the Redeemer. The commentary connects the singular expressions for the woman’s posterity with the person of the Redeemer, while qualifying the unity as only ideal in the meanwhile.
The analysis of betrothment argues that the accompanying gifts are necessary for the relationship to become a true betrothment. The argument about the Messiah’s human origin denies any advantage over other mortals concerning the age of the family.
