About this book
Dorothy on a Ranch is by Evelyn Raymond. A speaker tells of a man who hasn't any legs left and boasts that any honest man can do well in America if he tries, and says they see to it that his stock never fails.
Dorothy stops short to exclaim that someone bought the stuff and gave them most of it, and now will buy it over again just to throw away. Dorothy feels refreshed by her night of sound sleep and her delightful morning bath, and Anita leads her to the refectory and serves her a dainty breakfast on exquisite individual dishes bearing the initial D. Dorothy answers that she likes riding astride, as Lady Gray thought best on hard trips, and the text says Captain Lem had not over-rated the difficulties of that trip.
