About this book
Luxury--Gluttony, subtitled Two of the Seven Cardinal Sins, is a book by Eugène Sue. The contents list sets out parts called Luxury and Gluttony, among others, each with numbered chapters. The book carries an original etching by Adrian Marcel.
The edition is limited to one thousand copies and carries a copyright date of 1899. The text says M. Pascal had seen the loveliness of a young girl's face, and that one could read violent anger mingled with jealousy, pain, and hatred in his features. A young girl, called Mlle. Antonine by the prince, says that her uncle and the prince consent to all. A doctor presents his nephew Theodore, commissary of fine French and foreign wines, to a canon.
